Bills would have beat Eagles in Hypothetical Super Bowl according to Dion Dawkins

People have really lost all sense of reality since the Eagles won Super Bowl LIX, including Bills offensive lineman Dion Dawkins.

Like most fans and pundits, Dawkins has spiraled into the Hypothetical NFL. The “If” NFL, if you will. This is a very dark place, devoid of any logic or reality.

In this hellscape, you can say just about anything about NFL history without being questioned — even if it didn’t happen. That’s the cruel beauty of it, really. Because in this world, anything could have happened, even if it didn’t happen. There’s probably some paradoxical term to better describe this phenomenon, but I’m not smart enough to know it and too lazy to search it up.

Nevertheless, this is where Bills’ offensive lineman Dion Dawkins finds himself.

On a recent episode of The Pivot with Ryan Clark, Dawkins said the Bills would have put on a better show if they reached the Super Bowl, claiming they are ‘the ones,’ whatever that means.

Bills fans probably feel this same exact way

Every NFL fan has at least dabbled in this space before, even us Eagles fans. Just based on my prior experience playing the ‘if’ games, it’s not worth the mental strain. Trying to constantly stretch the truth to fit your hypothetical world is an exhausting task, one better suited for the media members making a living off it.

Just face the facts — the Bills lost the AFC Championship Game to Kansas City. They had opportunities to win it, but they didn’t take advantage of them. If the Bills won, maybe they would’ve only lost to the Eagles by 10 instead of 18. But nobody cares about ‘if.’

The NFL, like almost every major business in the United States, is results driven. The goal is to win the Super Bowl, not get really close and then gaslight yourself into believing you should’ve been the ones hoisting the Lombardi Trophy. No one remembers almost champions. And no one, outside of Buffalo, will remember the 2024 Bills. Because the reality is, they squandered their opportunity to win the big game. No amount of hypotheticals can save them from that truth.
