Report: Eagles sign edge-rusher Josh Uche to one-year deal
The Eagles have added some much-needed edge depth in free agency.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Philadelphia has signed Josh Uche to a one-year deal.
Pass-rush help for Philadelphia: Eagles reached agreement today on a one-year deal with former Chiefs free-agent LB Joshua Uche, who now will try to help replace Josh Sweat and Brandon Graham. Deal negotiated by Drew Rosenhaus and Kyle Lincoln. pic.twitter.com/wKGH2MHJGw

With Josh Sweat’s departure and Brandon Graham’s looming retirement, the Eagles needed a low-cost rotational pass-rusher, and Uche fits the bill.
Uche, 26, spent four seasons in New England and had his best season in 2022 when he racked up 11.5 sacks, 49 pressures, and 14 QB hits. The Eagles had interest in Uche before last year’s trade deadline, but Kansas City acquired him for a sixth-round pick.
Uche failed to make an impact with the Chiefs, playing just 37 defensive snaps before the season finale and not playing at all during the postseason.
If Uche can return to form under Vic Fangio, the former second-round pick will be a great addition to Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt off the edge.
