Nick Sirianni finally gets some respect, lands in CBS Sports’ Top 5 NFL Head Coaches

or the first time in what feels like forever, the national media finally caught up: Nick Sirianni is one of the best head coaches in the NFL.

CBS Sports released its 2025 NFL head coach rankings, and Sirianni landed at No. 4 overall, behind only Andy Reid, John Harbaugh, and Sean McVay. It’s a massive leap from his previous ranking at No. 15, and it comes after guiding the Eagles to their second Super Bowl appearance in three seasons. That’s not just recognition, that’s validation.

Let’s be honest, Nick Sirianni’s been a punching bag for national talking heads since the day he stumbled through his introductory press conference. Every time the Eagles win, it’s the roster. It’s the GM. It’s the quarterback. But every time something goes wrong, suddenly it’s all on him. That 2023 collapse? People were ready to run him out of town. And yet, when the smoke cleared, who was still standing on the sideline, rallying the locker room, and turning the page?

Nick Sirianni.

He didn’t whine. He didn’t deflect. He just got back to work — and the results speak for themselves. The Eagles stormed through the 2024 season with a sense of urgency, physicality, and cohesion that can only come from strong leadership. CBS even called it a “remarkable rebound with a historically dominant finish.”

Of course, Sirianni still has his critics. Some say he’s riding Howie Roseman’s coattails. Others act like he’s just a vibes guy who yells “let’s go” a lot. But that ignores the reality: you don’t stumble into two Super Bowls in three years unless you know exactly what you’re doing. Culture doesn’t create itself. Cohesion doesn’t magically appear in a locker room full of alpha personalities. That stuff starts at the top.

So yeah, maybe Sirianni doesn’t have the résumé of an Andy Reid. But what he does have is a team that would run through a wall for him, and a city that’s finally seeing the national media give their head coach the credit he’s earned.

Nick Sirianni is no longer a question mark. He’s a certified top-tier NFL head coach. And if this year’s Eagles run ends in another parade down Broad Street, don’t be surprised when he’s sitting even higher on next year’s list.
