Salute to Ryan Clark for completely dismantling Cam Newton’s take on Jalen Hurts

Whenever someone defends our lord and savior Jalen Hurts, we have to show respect. Ryan Clark did that and then some during his response to Cam Newton’s omission of Hurts from his top-10 quarterbacks.

Thank you, Ryan Clark

The last snippet from Ryan Clark should be played on repeat for anyone who thinks Hurts isn’t a top-10 signal caller. Honestly, leaving Hurts off your top-10 says more about the person sharing the rankings than the rankings themselves.

Newton is a perfect example of that. He once said he wouldn’t give up his MVP trophy if it meant he’d have a Super Bowl. Excuse me? You’d rather have personal achievement over team success? That says it all. The truth is, if the 2015 Carolina Panthers had Jalen Hurts, they would’ve won the Super Bowl. Not only because Hurts would’ve dove on the fumble to at least give his team a chance, he would’ve played better throughout the entire game.

I think people forget just how awful Cam was in Super Bowl 50 (except for Ryan Clark, evidently). He went 18-for-41, with 265 yards and one interception and two fumbles lost. Everyone remembers the incredible physical talent he showcased throughout that season, but no one remembers how he pissed down his leg on the biggest stage. With Hurts, it’s the complete opposite for some reason. Everyone wants to point to regular season stats, but no one wants to give him his flowers for dominating in the postseason.

The Jalen Hurts engagement farm is booming and I’ll gladly write about anyone who decides to do business there. It’s the easiest stuff to write about. Because facts are on my side.

Bringing it back to Cam, I think the dude is just butthurt that Jalen said this to his face when they had a sit down interview:
