Eagles Training Camp: Former LSU standout seems like the front runner for WR3
The Eagles might’ve quietly found their WR3, and his name is Terrace Marshall Jr.
Signed this offseason with little fanfare, Marshall showed up to training camp looking like a man on a mission. And on Day 1, he wasted no time making noise. During 7-on-7 drills, the former LSU standout beat cornerback Kelee Ringo deep for a highlight-reel grab from Tanner McKee. Ringo was in decent position. Marshall just flat-out made a better play.
After practice, A.J. Brown went out of his way to praise the newcomer:
“He’s going to make the room very uncomfortable. And that’s a great thing.”
That’s not lip service. That’s a Pro Bowl receiver acknowledging real competition.
Eagles WR Room Just Got a Lot More Interesting
Let’s be honest — after Brown and DeVonta Smith, the Eagles haven’t exactly had a lock on that WR3 spot. Jahan Dotson had a fine playoff run, but he did little to nothing during the regular season, opening the door for someone like Marshall to take the reigns.
At 6’2″, 200 pounds, he gives Jalen Hurts something the team’s been lacking — a big-bodied, contested-catch threat who can line up outside and win physical matchups.
If Marshall keeps stacking days like this, it won’t just be the WR3 job he’s gunning for — it’ll be meaningful snaps in an offense that throws the ball 600+ times a year.
From Roster Bubble to Rotation Piece?
Marshall’s NFL career hasn’t taken off like many hoped after his stellar college run at LSU, but this change of scenery might be exactly what he needed. With the Eagles, he’s not just fighting for a roster spot, he’s fighting for a role in a Super Bowl-caliber offense.
So far? He’s winning.
Training camp is long. Preseason games are coming. But if you’re betting on who’s in the lead for WR3 right now, Terrace Marshall Jr. is the guy to watch.
Stay tuned. This one’s getting fun.
