WATCH: Lane Johnson says he may call it quits if Eagles win it all in 2025

We’re not quite there yet, but Lane Johnson‘s career is going to come to an end soon.

The future Hall of Fame tackle enters 2025 at 35 years old and is only under contract for two more years. He’s hinted at retirement before and we all assume that once the contract’s up, he’ll walk away. Sadly (or not sadly depending on how you take this), Lane says he might call it quits after this season if the Eagles end up winning another title.

“If we win it all this year, I could be done. That’s how I feel… I’m definitely looking next couple years. I’m signed for two, this and next. Then I’ll really evaluate it. But if we win it all this year, it could be my last.”

I don’t think anyone would be mad if Lane hung up the cleats after completing the repeat. I mean, how could you? The guy is arguably the best offensive tackle in the history of the sport and has played through a lot of injuries throughout his career. He gets to rest whenever he’s ready for it — who are we to say otherwise.

Plus, going out on top is always the preferred way to exit. Brandon Graham just did it, so it would make sense if Lane Johnson did the same after this year. Now we just have to go out and bring home another Lombardi.
