A year ago, Xander Schauffele was the guy. He was consistently the second name on every leaderboard behind Scottie Scheffler, racking up majors and looking like the steady anchor of U.S. golf for years to come.

Fast forward to now and he’s limping into the offseason, beat up from injury, missing the Tour Championship after finishing outside of the Top 30 and somehow, the vibes have never been higher.

When you strip away the points, the FedExCup rankings, and all the PGA Tour noise, you are left with a beautiful reminder that it’s Ryder Cup season and THAT, is literally the only thing that matters.

A Reset Year, at the Right Time

Xander’s brutally honest about his struggles this year: “Nothing worse than trying hard and being complete ass.” And honestly, that’s just golf. You grind, you practice, you care too much, and then the game spits in your face anyway. Sounds a lot like every weekend hacker, except Schauffele’s stakes are measured in millions of dollars and legacies.

Still, sometimes the best thing that can happen is the reset. Get away from chasing FedEx points. Clear the slate. Get your head right before Bethpage.
