Eagles head coach speaks on Micah Parsons trade and how it affects game plan for Week 1 matchup vs. Dallas
Now that Micah Parsons is out of the picture for the Eagles’ Week 1 matchup against Dallas, the offensive game plan just got a whole lot easier to scheme.
When speaking with reporters, Nick Sirianni addressed the Parsons trade and how it might shape what the Birds do on offense.
Eagles HC on the Parsons factor
“We’re getting ready to play the Cowboys, so he’s in your thoughts of game planning but they still have guys that we have to prepare for. They got Kenny Clark who’s a really good player and they have good depth at the defensive end group, so you don’t get too wrapped up into that except for some of the stuff you’re doing with the game plan.”
No Micah obviously changes how the Eagles will attack Dallas on Thursday, but honestly, I don’t think it matters all that much. Parsons never really wrecked games against the Birds. Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata always had him locked down, and when the Eagles ran right at him, he didn’t stand a chance.
The Eagles were going to win Thursday whether Parsons suited up or not. Credit to Sirianni for not overhyping it and just keeping the main thing the main thing.
