Report: Eagles have begun their OC search, with two prominent names at the top of the list
According to wannabe Eagles insider Dianna Russini, Philly has two names at the top of their offensive coordinator wishlist: Brian Daboll and Mike McDaniel.
Eagles looking for the biggest name on the market
This report comes after Josina Anderson noted that both Kevin Stefanski and Kliff Kingsbury were in the mix. Whoever it ends up being, it’s pretty clear the Eagles are doing everything in their power to land the right guy, and I love it.
Personally, McDaniel and Daboll are my two front runners.
McDaniel, despite the shortcomings as a head coach, is a legit offensive mind. Put him with a unit like the Birds and I think he’d thrive. The Shanahan connections only make him more appealing too, especially when you factor in the running game potential Philly has.
As for Daboll, he wouldn’t be my first choice, but the Jalen Hurts connection pretty much sells me. He coached Jalen at Alabama, and both have spoken highly of each other for years. On top of that, Daboll had a strong relationship with Saquon Barkley in New York, even with the way everything ended.
Either way, it feels like the Eagles are actually doing their due diligence here. And for once, I can’t complain about that.
