Eagles place Miles Sanders on injured reserve after suffering ankle injury against Raiders

Another brutal blow to the Eagles’ offense. Just now, the team announced that they would be placing running back Miles Sanders on injured reserve, ruling him out for a minimum of three weeks. According to Ian Rapoport, though, it doesn’t seem like Sanders will miss more time than that.
Miles Sanders hurt his ankle early last Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders after finally receiving several carries. Through 2021, Sanders has 300 yards rushing on 63 attempts, proving to be very efficient despite the minimal usage. After losing their key back, Philadelphia will likely turn to rookie Kenneth Gainwell to be the primary RB.
Nick Sirianni used Boston Scott heavily during the second half against the Raiders, so he could be due for an increased role as well. The Eagles’ last two injury reports have been quite extensive, with several key players like Javon Hargrave being listed.
Numerous Eagles are already on the injured reserve, including Isaac Seumalo, Brandon Graham, and Brandon Brooks. Meanwhile, for the Lions, their injury report is looking clear for this Sunday’s game.
