Union officially clinch first round home playoff game in Audi 2021 MLS Playoffs

Playoff soccer is back in Philadelphia. Last night, the Union officially clinched a top-four seed and a home play game for the upcoming Audi 2021 MLS Playoffs. This news comes following the draw between the New York Red Bulls and Atlanta United last night.

Union head coach Jim Curtin is proud of the club and its recent history of regular season play.

“It is a great accomplishment to reach the playoffs, and one that has become a standard for this club, It is expected of this team to advance to the post-season and the work has just begun. We are now going to fight to keep a top seed in the conference and to get as many home games as possible.

We greatly appreciate the fans that have stuck with us all season to get us here. We hear the yelling, cheering, and chanting that has made Subaru Park an electric environment for our players and a formidable one for opponents to play in. They are truly the backbone of this club, and we will continue to work hard to make this city proud.”

The Union were able to earn their playoff spot despite having two regular-season games remaining this year. This is similar to the 2018 season, but they were able to clinch a spot with five games remaining in the last two seasons. The Union wraps up their 2021 regular season this Sunday in Yankee Stadium against New York City F.C.

Playoff tickets are officially on sale now. Be sure to not miss out on home playoff game at the incredible Subaru Park.
