Michael Buffer hits ‘The Griddy’ before Eagles game at age 77, welcomes all challengers

Legendary ring announcer and consummate Philly guy Michael Buffer attended Eagles vs Cowboys this past Sunday night and was so pumped he couldn’t help but dance. Like so many of athletes and fans, the septuagenarian took advantage of the situation by hitting The Griddy in the end zone.
Buffer posted the clip to his Twitter to throw down the gauntlet:
Hmmm…
Look, I’m not here to hate on an old man’s Griddy. That’s not who I am or what I’m about.
Also, as a white guy from the suburbs, I’m definitely not the guy to pass judgement on this dance. I know RGIII would personally take issue with it, though I’m not sure he can talk much shit either.
Regardless of your thoughts, you have to give him some love for going out there and giving it a shot. Sure it lacked some of the fundamental steps necessary to even call it a Griddy, but that’s neither here nor there.
One of the most shocking things to come out this wasn’t the dance itself (though it was a sight to see), but the fact that a solid chunk of Philly fans had no idea Buffer was from the city. How anyone goes without learning that the greatest ring announcer of his generation – literally the voice of fighting in my eyes – is from their hometown is baffling.
At any rate, I’m going to need to know when my man Mike is back in town for a Birds game. Would love to hit the Griddy with him after a near-dangerous amount of beverages.
And you know what we’ll say if someone calls our Griddy “unseasoned?” Roll the tape:
