Darius Slay Behavior: Eagles cornerback continues to focus on social media rather than cleaning up mistakes on defense

The Philadelphia Eagles were embarrassed for the second straight week after getting destroyed by the Dallas Cowboys 33-13 on Sunday Night Football.

The Cowboys received the football and on the opening drive, marched straight down the field on a 10 play, 75 yard touchdown drive. They went a perfect 3-for-3 on third down conversions while running the ball five times for 45 yards. The Eagles defense was no where close to putting pressure on Dak Prescott and their inability to tackle was on full display yet again.

Dallas scored on four straight possessions in the first half. They led 10-0 after the first quarter and scored two more touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 24-6 lead into halftime. To put that into perspective, here’s what the Eagles defense managed to do on 10 straight drives dating back to last Sunday against the 49ers.

Loser Monday: Eagles embarrass themselves yet again, lose 33-13 to the Dallas Cowboys >>

With all that laid out in front of you, Eagles fans would probably think that the team and their veteran leaders would take accountability and regroup internally to avoid further disaster over the final four games of the regular season.

Fletcher Cox took that route, calling out his teammates and demanding ‘true leadership‘ in the locker room.

So what about the other veteran leaders on defense?

Let’s check in with Darius [Slay] and the secondary.

Darius [Slay] immediately hopped on Twitter to retweet his Pass Interference call

Shocker. The Cornerback “Slay” continues to act and play like Darius.

We saw it last weekend after Seth Joyner questioned the Eagles’ secondary willingness to tackle, and now Darius returns to immediately retweet a shitty pass interference call that happened in the first quarter of a 20-point loss to the Cowboys on the road in the midst of a heated playoff race.

Cool.

Darius Slay Pass Interference Call

Spare me the whole “It’s Slay!” bullshit. This is nothing more than Darius behavior.

This dude is really getting back to the locker room and hopping on Twitter, searching his name, and retweeting the pass interference call. That honestly tells you everything you need to know about the state of the Philadelphia Eagles following two embarrassing losses to the other top teams in the NFC.

DARIUS should be focusing on playing better defense and getting his secondary in order. The Eagles’ defense has allowed 64 POINTS in the final two minutes before halftime this season. That is the most in the NFL.

It’s time for Darius Slay to look within and be the veteran leader that this Eagles’ defense expects you to be. Not sure how to do that? Maybe talk to Fletcher Cox.

The Eagles’ veteran defensive tackle is out there calling out the entire Eagles team and letting them know that wants to see “real leadership” over the final four weeks of the regular season, himself included.

  1. Cox has the right tude! If these players are that obsessed with social media immediately after a game, that’s pretty insecure. Thus, doomed
