WATCH: Dunphy ‘drops the gloves’ in the parking lot ahead of Eagles-Packers game

It appears our guy Dunphy had a busy day down at The Linc, tailgating in the lots ahead of the Packers-Eagles game.

The day started with Dunphy absolutely DRILLING field goals that made Eagles fans question whether or not he would be a better option than Jake Elliott moving forward.

From there, this apparently spiraled out of control. I reached out to Dunphy but haven’t heard back yet. Apparently, another Eagles fan asked him to “square up” in the parking lot, so that’s exactly what Dunphy did. The fight was caught on video. Check it out.

Side Note: Not a fan of the guy who posted this. The comment “Look who was in Brawl in the parking lot before today’s game!” rubbed me the wrong way. It wasn’t even a brawl. It was a 1 v 1 fight. The fact that he added an exclamation point with “look who…” to start makes me think that it was a sarcastic remark from an asshole looking to shed negative light on our guy Dunphy.

As for the video, which was posted on someone’s Instagram story. tagging the Philadelphia Eagles account? That’s simply rat behavior and shouldn’t be tolerated either. 

Overall, I have no issues with the fight so please, don’t even start with the “this is why Philly sports fans get a bad wrap” narrative because it doesn’t even apply to this situation. 

Dunphy, seemingly minding his own business was squaring up 1 v 1 with someone else in the parking lot. This isn’t even in the same category as fights that we typically see in Dallas, Las Vegas, or San Francisco where it’s 4 v 1 (with women) and security involved. 

Again, Dunphy basically met this dude in the concrete octagon. That’s what men do. It’s a respectable way to settle differences. 

Really, the only problem is the Instagram story and the dude filming. His inability to keep the camera steady while sounding like a complete idiot nearly ruined the entire production. 

Also – shoutout Dunphy for the double-leg takedown. Hell of a move from the big fella. Looks like he took a few licks but that didn’t stop him from rooting in the Birds.
