Cam Jurgens’ first purchase to celebrate $68 million extension might surprise you
The Eagles locked up their Pro-Bowl center Cam Jurgens with a four-year, $68 million extension, securing his services until 2029. It’s no secret the team values its offensive line, and Jurgens was rewarded for his phenomenal job filling Jason Kelce’s shoes.
Of course, he’s ready to celebrate his new extension with a lavish purchase. Could it be a car? A house? A private jet?
So close, but they’re all wrong. Cam Jurgens wants one thing and one thing only: TSA PreCheck.
Ahhh, yes. Cam, let me be the first to welcome you into the TSA PreCheck club. It’s time to fly the friendly skies in style, my friend.
It’s not nearly as extravagant a purchase as some would expect, but that’s a man after my own heart. It’s in the same utilitarian vein as Landon Dickerson’s new riding mower, and I love that for both of them.
At least Dickerson’s mower was actually somewhat of a cost-prohibitive item at around $15k, but you’ll see no shade from me here.
Now, the smart move would be to just get Global Entry for expedited customs when traveling internationally. It’s only a bit more and well worth it, especially if the NFL keeps sending the Eagles around the globe to show the world what a real football team looks like.
Sure, there are some holes to poke in this. TSA PreCheck costs $78 for a five-year membership. And there are credit cards that have it included for free as a member benefit.
But forget all that. If that’s what Cam Jurgens wants, that’s what he gets, goddammit.
