Averaging 21 PPG on incredible efficiency. Add this to his improved defense and playmaking. You simply have a very, very important part of the 1st place 76ers.
The Philadelphia 76ers ended up doing business with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2021 NBA trade deadline. The Sixers are landing George Hill from the Thunder and Ignas Brazdeikis from the Knicks. Oklahoma City receives Tony Bradley, Philly’s 2025 and 2026 second round picks, and Knick guard Austin Rivers. New York nets Terrance Ferguson and Philly’s 2021 second round pick.
We are nearly halfway through the season, and Joel Embiid is #1 in the MVP race right now. If I were to tell you, after the process days, the Sixers would have the best player in basketball; would you believe me? That is where we are at right now. Obviously, the goal will always be to win a championship. But I think we all need to take a step back and just appreciate Joel Hans Embiid.
The biggest takeaway from this game was Ben Simmons. Well, besides Charles Barkley absolutely butchering Furkan Korkmaz's name. Simmons completely took Luka Doncic out of his game. He set the tone defensively to say the least. The whole team rallied around his efforts.

Jeffery Lurie and Howie Roseman should take all the blame. Somehow, someway, both guys remained in the franchise after firing Andy Reid and Doug Pederson. I shouldn't even have to mention all the horrible draft mistakes both guys have made. These two are on the verge of trading Carson Wentz. Which may be the right decision for both sides.
