Weekend Rips: Eagles Football is BACK, The Hunt for Red October continues vs the Nationals, and a TLL Note from Drew Smith

The sun is shining across the Delaware Valley, the Queen is dead, and god damnit, we have all survived to the best day of the week, Friday. This weekend is lining up to a beautiful, monarch-free weekend in Philadelphia, and we have a full slate of things to get into that will surely make you question your ability to go back to the office on Monday.
I know I say this every weekend, but it might be the perfect time to crack open some ice cold [BEER SPONSOR HERE]. The Philadelphia Phillies are in the midst of The Hunt for Red October, the Eagles are in Detroit for NFL Week One, and we celebrate yet another anniversary of September 11th, a day that changed America forever.
Okay, maybe that last one isn’t great. Jet fuel doesn’t melt steel beams. Regardless, all great lists include at least THREE things and our options were limited. REGARDLESS lets crush some beverages for Lady Diana. It’s time to let it rip.
Eagles vs. Lions – FOX @ 1 PM
The game has officially sold out – it’s the first non-Thanksgiving Lions game to do so since 2017. I think it’s pretty evident that Birds fans had a hand in it. I would even go as far as saying that our official partners, Phans of Philly, played a huge part in bringing Eagles nation to Detroit. There’s literally no other reason why anyone would want to go outside of the birds.
Shameless plug aside, this is one of the most anticipated weekends of 2022. Of course, our NFL appetite was whetted by Bills vs. Rams, but we bleed green in this city; football isn’t back until the Birds are.
Before we hit a few things to keep an eye on, enjoy Eagles writer Brian Cass’ hype video: Fly Together.
Even though the corrupt national media has the Birds ranked 14th heading into the season, you’d be crazy not to expect them to make some serious noise this season. The only place better to kick off the year other than The Linc is on the road against an all-time basement dweller like the Lions.
I loved them on Hard Knocks, but that’s where it ends. Now, I want Jalen Hurts to light them up through the air and on the ground. Let the general public ride that Hard Knocks boost into Sunday.
For the rest of us, the Eagles -4 is a complete lock and you’d be foolish to not bet it, especially since we are handing you over $550 in FREE BETS.

Key Position Groups To Watch This Weekend: The Eagles Defensive Line and Receiving Corps
The addition of AJ Brown and the departure of Jalen Reagor has led to the creation of one of the better Eagles WR corps in recent memory. Will Jalen Hurts take advantage? We shall see.
On the other side of the ball, additions like rookie Jordan Davis and Temple Guy Haason Reddick are reinforcements for Howie Roseman’s pride and joy. Keep it locked to The Liberty Line as game day approaches to get all the info you’ll need to watch (and bet) like a pro.
Phillies Weekend Update
After a brutal weekend sweep at the hands of Gabe Kapler’s San Francisco Giants, the Fightins managed to win two of three against the Marlins. The loss on Thursday night sees the Phillies in the third and final Wild Card spot with a 2.5-game cushion over the Brewers.

Check out our in-depth look at where the team stands here.
This weekend, the Phillies turn their attention to the Washington Nationals. The Phillies have absolutely owned the Nats this year, winning 10 of their 12 meetings. This is exactly what the doctor ordered for the Phils. A sweep would keep them comfortably in playoff hunt and continue the quest for Red October.

Inside The Liberty Line: A Note from Drew Smith
Let’s be clear, this is the last nice thing I’ll ever write on this website.
When I look back over the last 2.5 years since we launched The Liberty Line, I honestly have no idea how we have gotten to where we are now. We have seen many faces come and go and have continuously failed with business decisions, while spending any money that we do have on TLL Trips to the Poconos, Miami, Atlantic City, and soon to be Arizona for the Cardinals Eagles game.
Our goal to create a space where Philly fans and people on the internet could come, laugh, talk shit, and root in our favorite Philadelphia sports teams has now turned into a legitimate business and full time job.
TLL Sports LLC is a real thing.
There has been over 4 MILLION people that have visited the website THIS YEAR.
It’s all very overwhelming and honestly surreal.
However, like we always do, we continue to move forward and figure out things as we go.
We are officially certified in over 12 different states that offer sports gambling. We’re selling t-shirts like crazy. And we’re about to enter our first NFL football season without the COVID cloud lingering over our heads.
We NEVER pat ourselves on the back like other websites, but today as we roll into another football season, I think we deserve to do that. For everyone who reads The Liberty Line, fucks around with us on social media, and prays on our downfall, we love all of you (well, most of you).
Thank you to all the friends we continue to make along the way. If you can support TLL, sign up for a Sportsbook below or grab a t-shirt. If not, whatever, that’s perfectly fine too. You can find me in F2 Parking Lot every single home game.
Stop by, say what’s up, and let’s crush a few beers and root on the Birds.
